Shri Gokuleshji is a protector and savior of
Pushtimarg. He was considered as the incarnation of Shrimad Vallabhacharyaji.
Gopaldasji the disciple of Shri Vitthalnathji has given a great attribute
to Shri Gokuleshji in "Vallabhakhyan" in the following words :
"Shri Gokulpati ati gunnidhi re Tat tano pratibimb re rasana". Shri Gokuleshji is highly intelligent and possess divine interest. He is really a true knower of Vedshastra. He is a world teacher. |
| Shri Gokuleshji has made use of Vraj Bhasha just to make the principle of his own path is easy to the vaishnavas who do not know the Sanskrit language. He is known as the father of prose literature in Vraj Bhasha. He used to explain very lucidly the salient principles of pushtimarg through table talks. The book of his table talks is very big. Table talks the number of which is said to have been nearly fifteen thousand. A small part of these have been published. |
There are many books written in Vraj Bhasha by Shri Gokuleshji as : The Story of 84 Vaishnavas who were the disciples of Shri Mahaprabhuji and Shri Vitthalnathji the story of 252 Vaishnavas, Shri Vallabhacharyaji's - Nijvarta, House hold stories (Gharu Varta), The history of Bethaks (Bethak- Charitra), The sentiments behind all the festivals (Utsav Bhavana), Instructions for daily devotional service (Nitya Seva Bhavana).
His nature was very jolly and witty. There are many anecdotes of his wit and humor. They are published in a book form. He used to explain the principles of Pushtimarg by narrating humorous incidents.
Chitta Bhed ( Classification
of heart )
As conceived by Shri Gokuleshji
| 1. Visha chitta | That deserves sadness, affliction |
| 2. Vajra chitta | Means hardened heart. One who possesses hardened mind may sometimes come in contact of spiritual saintly discourse, but he is never touched by it |
| 3. Loha chitta | Means like an iron. Iron is very hard & strong. It can never be punched through such heart, as strong as iron, may sometimes be pierced through by the sharp drilling of terrible heart or devotion, etc. of spiritual discourse but on cooling down it again restores to its hardness. |
| 4. Shila chitta | Shilla chitta heart is hard as a stone is always devoid of any interest. Whatever quantity of water the form of spiritual interest is poured on it, it is however, remarks wet for a while and restorees once again to its dryness. |
| 5. Suvarna chitta | Heart bearing quaities as those of gold may be softened with touch of fire and borax. but the moment the touch of spiritual fire or essence of saintly discourse is reduced it restores once again to its hardness.. |
| 6. Laksha chitta | Laksha chitta heart bearing nature as that of sealing wax, melts like sealing wax. It is moulded into a required shape but its contact with fire makes it stiff. |
| 7. Madan chitta | Slight heat even softnes wax, and as such it is soft to touch. Its soft nature allows it to touch Lord in the form of intimacy. One who possess such heart as soft as wax remains by its nature much involved in the remembrance of Lord. |
| 8. Ghrut chitta | Ghee, ghrut is lucid and soft by its very nature. A slight heat of a palm would make it very sensitive.(adore) |
| 9. Makhan chitta | Butter is softer than even ghee by all means it never gives up the softness of its very nature. For such reason, persons possessing hearts as soft as butter always remain drenched in the soft sweetness of Lord. They do not have even the slightest of hardness in them. They have the nature of melting and are fully involved in love, with plenty of love. Such hearts are incapable of having even a slight coarseness at any point of time, such heart is indeed the outcome of Lord's grace. |
| 10. Amrut Chitta | Amrut Chitta is heart which abounds in all the qualities of nector which are renowned in the world, such hear moulds even the wicked and the sinful into it's character. No one is capable of appreciating the significance and the loftiness of such heart. |
| 11. Akash Chitta | Heart of this kind, being analogous to sky, space never thouches any one, nor can one touch it. Such people are devoid of any heart feelings. |
